TacticID is a field-ready handheld spectrometer that utilizes lab-proven Raman spectroscopy, allowing users to get real-time actionable identification of unknown chemicals, explosives, narcotics, and many other substances. It reduces operational uncertainty and response time without ever compromising the integrity of the sample or the chain of evidence. The TacticID product line provides reliable field identification for law enforcement and first defenders.

Easy, intuitive operation
The TacticID features a large, responsive touchscreen that makes touch operation easy. The handheld spectrometer is navigable for work in protective gear and displays color-coded results clearly, along with GHS and NFPA704 safety information so appropriate action can be taken.
You can add your notes to each scan result, or use definable fields to enter traceable sample information that is included in reports and can be searched and sorted in PC-software database.
Actionable data, traceable evidence, and fluorescence-free testing
Raman spectroscopy has high chemical specificity, giving the molecular fingerprint that can uniquely identify your sample using the extensive, specialized libraries on the TacticID products. A polystyrene validation cap is included to verify instrument performance.
With embedded camera, GPS, user-definable fields, and notes entry, all the relevant traceable information is included in the report and can be stored in the secure TID database.
The TacticID-1064 ST with 1064 nm laser excitation produce fluorescence-free spectral signatures, allowing users to identify dark and colored materials and tough street samples, directly through packaging.
Flexible sampling accessories
Utilizing Raman technology, analysis can be performed through transparent containers, maintaining sample integrity and minimizing operator exposure and sample contamination.
You can measure powders, solids, and liquids directly or through plastic bags, vials, and bottles with optimized sampling accessories. The TacticID-1064 ST has the added capability of see-measurement through different packaging including opaque plastic bottles, fiber, and paper packages.

TacticID works on the principles of Raman spectroscopy, making sampling safe, fast, and easy:
- Raman spectroscopy is a non-destructive analysis method, meaning that the sample is not damaged
- Avoid contact with the sample by scanning through plastics, bottles, and other translucent packaging materials using optimized sampling accessories
- Typical unknown material identification time lies between 10 to 40 seconds, following fast instrument start-up
- Add customized libraries and create your own libraries quickly & easily to stay one step ahead of emerging threats
