Determination of fluoride by boric acid titration

Acid etching mixtures are used for many purposes, such as for semiconductor manufacturing, metal surface finishing, and more. These etching baths frequently use hydrofluoric acid (HF) because of its efficacy, and controlling its concentration can help manufacturers adjust the etch rate of certain materials. This Application Note explains how fluoride determination in acid etching baths can be performed with thermometric titration.
