Standardization of thiosulfate titrant for copper determinations
Summary
Copper determination can be performed via iodometric titration. A mixture of sodium thiosulfate and potassium iodide is used as titrant. Free copper ions quantitatively react with iodide in solution to generate iodine which is then consumed by the thiosulfate anion. This Application Note discusses the standardization of thiosulfate titrant for use in the determination of copper with thermometric titration.
