Summary
Drilling fluids for oil and gas wells are viscous mixtures used for lubrication and to carry drill cuttings up to the surface. High solids content in the drilling fluid increases abrasiveness, necessitating total solids determination to protect costly drilling equipment. Thermometric titration quickly and accurately assesses the total solids content of fluids employed in drilling oil and gas wells within minutes.
